Saturday afternoon, my five year old said to me, "Mom, I want to spend time with you. I don't feel like I've had any time with you today." My response was, "Really?" I was totally perplexed. You see, we had just spent two hours of complete uninterrupted time together working on fun spring crafts.
The picture here is all the fun stuff we get to work on throughout the week as we welcome Spring and celebrate the joy of Easter.
*These were all craft kits purchased at our local Michael's craft store. The brand is Creatology {Easter}. I tried to find them online to provide a link but was unsuccessful in my search. I don't always buy craft kits for the kids, but sometimes it's nice to take all of the thinking and planning out of the process and just have fun.
Here are some of the things we did this weekend.
Easter Felt Flowers - Tweet! We used regular Elmer's Glue to put these together. The one thing I would say is it took a LOT of glue for it to hold. If you choose to make this with your children, this is one of those times when you'll want to encourage them to squeeze the bottle a bit more.
Next we worked on Creatology Easter Egg Ornaments. These were SO cute, except there was a problem with the picture on the front of each egg. A very tiny bunny rabbit. It was so small the girls couldn't have stayed in the lines with the paint if they really wanted to.
So after a brief moment of frustration from Faith, I finally convinced her to just paint the egg without worrying about the picture of the bunny on it. This craft is cute if you have something you can hang the finished eggs from. They feel a little fragile, so it's not something I'd have laying within the reach of my little one.

After we finished painting the Creatology Eggs, the girls wanted to make their fun Easter bead bracelets. Except they turned out to be necklaces instead. They had so much fun stringing the cool beads on that they just kept going and going.
One of them was white bunny's and the other had yellow chicks. Both were really cute. Here's a tip that will make this process go smoother, should you decide to do a craft like this with your kids: Tape one end of the stretchy string to a table or counter while stringing the beads.

Both of my girls had so much fun making their Easter crafts. We aren't finished though. We have a bunch more to work on throughout the week. So why would Faith feel as though we hadn't spent any time together?
I think she was referring to one on one time, without her little sister around.
Those moments are harder to come by, but not impossible. I'm glad she felt comfortable enough to tell me how she was feeling. While I wasn't able to give her the special time she was requesting right at that moment, I did give her a great big hug, told her I loved her, and promised we would have time together soon.
Faith doesn't know it yet, but I will be surprising her with some special mommy-daughter time together this evening when I treat her to a one on one game of Scrabble Junior. She LOVES playing games!
~Until next time, May God bless you with special moments to share with your children!

Hi! Thank you for visiting Yummy Mummy. I'm now following you too
Keep up the great work on your blog.
Wow, you are better than I. I never let them do all of them at the same time. I limit one a day of the store bought ones. But I guess on a rainy day, I would too! What a great time!
Those are so cute. I really need to get into doing more crafts with my kids. I always cringe when I think of using things like paint, glue, glitter, play doh, etc. I guess it's because I envision the mess I would later have to clean up. (And the mess I would leave and procrastinate about cleaning up!)
