It's that time again!  Time to give a super blogger shout out to those in the blogosphere who truly encourage and inspire my heart through their writing.  Today, I'm excited to have my dear friend, Audra, share her thoughts about motherhood and blogging.

DSC 0132edited nameweb e1346500132484 Super Blogger Spotlight: Rediscovering DomesticityI first "met" Audra of Rediscovering Domesticity about a year ago through the mom blogging network voiceBoks. Every time I'd visit her blog I would connect immediately with her words. She is a beautifully sweet, Christian mom to her three little boys and her goal is simple (or in some cases, not so simple): rediscover domesticity.

At her blog you'll find posts about faith, motherhood, blogging, green living, and even car seat safety. But that's not all. Audra runs a Saturday Salvation series and it's truly the highlight of my week when I see a new face and story of a sinner (like me) saved by grace. She's also been a guest here before which was a true honor.

I encourage you to hop over and subscribe to her awesomeness. You might want to check out her lovely contributions at Christian Mommy Blogger and take a peek at her brand new website/blog Audra Michelle.

1.  Can you share a little bit about yourself?

Hi! I am a wife to my best friend. We've been married for 12 years. We have moved around the country a lot and are now settled. We have been abundantly blessed with three amazing little boys: Buggy - 4, Scrunch - 2 1/2, and Fletch - 1. I work very part-time while staying home with my sweeties. Jesus is the center of my life and my home. We are sinners striving to follow Christ daily.

2.  What is your mission or goal with Rediscovering Domesticity and your new site Audra Michelle?

Things are in a bit of a transition. I have been blogging at Rediscovering Domesticity for 3 years now. It has become a collection of information about many aspects of motherhood. I recently created AudraMichelle.com for several reasons. First, it is my online hub to collect all I do online. Next, it is home to a new completely faith-focused blog UP. Last, it allows me to more easily branch into new topics and ventures (such as a possible future class or ebook).  Rediscovering Domesticity is being streamlined into a slightly more green-focused living/mothering blog.

3.  What's your favorite Bible verse?  Why?

Psalm 139:10 -

...even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
The entire psalm hits me at my core. A few years ago, we watched a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) leader training video about this psalm. I wept. I continue to weep each time I read those words. EVEN THERE. Wherever THERE may be, no matter how glorious, frustrating, or terrible, even THERE, God will hold us fast.

4.  What's one goal you're striving to accomplish this year?

I hope to streamline life a bit and cut away the mundane busyness to make way for really following God's plan for our lives. It's hard to say no to things that are GOOD things, yet we are not called to do every good thing which comes our way.

5.  What's the funniest thing that has happened to you in your journey through motherhood?

Oh my. With three little silly boys, I could write VOLUMES!  I can't think of any one thing. I love seeing how the boys love and care for each other already and how their relationships between each other are so unique already. Life can be very hectic though. I will share one story of a not-unusual trip to Kroger.  I typically wear one child in my Boba, push one in the cart and have one walk beside. Well, I didn't set them up for success. We were shopping at lunch time before naps. Fletch was on me. Scrunch  was riding and Buggy walking. Well, I looked over at one point and caught Buggy trying to lick Scrunch's tongue through the bars of the shopping cart, EWWW! I ended up putting Fletch in the cart, Scrunch in the big part of the cart, and wearing my 4yo on my back. It turned out to be a pleasant shopping trip full of people asking to buy me coffee!

Well done, Rosann...you picked a very good blogger to interview! Took the Psalm mentioned as my own for today and the future. Let me add one more..."Who satisfies your mouth (your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation) with good so that your youth renewed, is like the eagle's (strong, overcoming, and soaring)!" Psalm 103:5 Amplified translation

I love her boys and Henry's take on life. Those boys are a riot!

Thanks... great job on the interview.

Audra, I love your new directions on your blogs! Way to carve your niche;) The ebook and future class are really great goals. You are at the 3 year hump, by the way. Did you know that most give up blogging after 3 years? I think the ones who make it past that hump, and keep progressing, really start to see things.

As always Rosann, great job on a lovely interview;)

Courtney, the three year hump is news to me! I had no idea most give up by that time. That totally validates the wishy washy feelings I always get...do I continue...do I quit...do I slow down...and then I charge forward with my mission in tact. Audra has such a lovely site and writing voice. I know she will see God working great things with her writing.
